Stone and Facade Restoration

Stone restoration techniques include complete renewal, insitu surface restoration and consolidation. For a successful repair, it is essential that defective areas, are cut back to a sound base and free from all loose flaking particles of stone. Then either new masonry would be indented into the existing structure or insitu restoration using reinforced repair mortars would take place. This would be through colour matching the new mortar to the surrounding stonework or pinning and injecting grout into the unstable masonry structure to bind the masonry together. Pinning can also be used to fix loose pieces of masonry to the main structure and improve the stability of the substrate. Stainless steel dowels would be drilled into the stonework and fixed in place with epoxy resin.
